Yamaha GC-5M Grand Concert 1974 MIJ 660mm

$1,099.00

Fantastic vintage guitar from Yamaha. Hand made in Japan by expert craftsmen, even has a signed label! Has a rosewood fretboard solid Ezo spruce top and rosewood sides and back. Ezo spruce is now a protected species and was used on the best guitars in Japan in the 1970’s. It grows only on the northern -most island of Hokkaido in Japan where the short growing season results in a unique grain structure. Ezo is highly prized for its amazing tone and volume. An Ezo spruce upgrade today will cost several thousand dollars. Comes with a premium leather strap from Hardy Aimes and a strap lock system for the end pin.

There is finish yellowing evident in the back sides and neck, see pictures. The guitar is structurally sound with a good neck and no cracks or repairs. You can see the seam line in the top but it is not separated. Clear pick guard is installed. A few small dings in the top, replaced tuners with some screw holes visible. See pictures for condition details.
